April First – Fancy Dress Airsoft Day!

April Fool’s day will see another of our regular airsoft game days, but this time there’ll be a little twist – Fancy Dress!

Start thinking of costume ideas now – the best costume will receive a prize – but bear in mind this simple dress code: Non military (so dressing up as a soldier won’t count…)

FWG Pyro Test

We’ve filmed the majority of footage for our upcoming promo video; all that remains is to add the pyro effects.  Because we share our site with a variety of wildlife and livestock, we couldn’t film the pyro on site, as the noise would cause too much disturbance, so we have to add it in later.

Here is a video of the test shots we fired in order to gauge the strength and volume of the effects.  Over the next few days, we’ll film more of these, and our editor will composite them into the existing footage.

It’ll cost you £10 for the day (including all your kit and your first 100 paintballs), you can pay that in full or pay a £5 deposit to book your place and pay the rest on the day in cash. If you want to avoid carrying a load of cash on Saturday you can also pre-buy 500 extra paintballs for just £30.

3rd Build Day Done

and the site is coming along nicely.

We’re all a bit sore after that, but thanks to the hard work of AJ, Jamie, Tintin and Sheepie (and of course, Oli and I) the site is a lot closer to being ready. They’ll be first in line for a free day for their efforts.

We managed to clear out what will be our registration and briefing rooms, and most of a very big building, some nice clean corridors, no more nails sticking out of walls, broken glass or sheep muck on the floor. Then we (mainly AJ) took a sledgehammer to some brick walls and metal fittings to clear out a nice big indoor area ready for us to put in some walls and other obstacles for fast-paced room clearance and intense shootouts.

Then as a little reward we let the lads play with some of Oli’s toys and test out some of the buildings. I am reliably informed that Tintin won with the M4, beating Jamie wielding the G36 and Sheepie with dual pistols. I can’t wait to get a real game with a few dozen people going!

A few more weekends of hard labour and we should be ready for the grand opening. Watch this space!

Photos of the site – “Before”

As you can see, there’s a lot of work to be done, but we’ll turn these abandoned buildings into an intense paintball and airsoft arena fit for the whole of Fife!
